Woodland Tulip Loop

Neither one of us wanted to get moving this morning. Looking out the window at the wet roads didn't help. The sun came out and the roads started to dry, so we finally got out the door and rolling at about 10:30 a.m. Once we started riding we both felt great.

Quick Stats
Ride Distance: 65.43 miles
Elevation Gain: 3,647 feet
Average Moving Speed: 15.47 mph

We originally thought of riding up to Larch Mountain again, but we were kind of blah with that idea. We wanted to do something a little different, but there isn't a whole lot different to try. Then I remembered that we had never ridden out on the dike roads west of Woodland (where they have the Tulip festival in the spring), even though we had been intending to do it. So what better day than today?

Riding up to Woodland we took the same old roads, but we changed it up a bit by going the opposite direction of what we usually do on the TTT and/or just going as direct as possible up to Woodland. The sun was out quite a bit, but not always, so that combined with riding on flats/downhills (cold) or going uphill (hot) combined with riding through shady forested areas (cold) vs. out in the sun (hot) made it difficult to figure out whether to keep one's jacket on or not. When we got to Woodland it was pretty much sunny and we were out in the open, the jackets came off for the duration.
RIDE DATA:

We thoroughly enjoyed it up there. Very little traffic and some nice scenery riding along both the Columbia River and the Lewis River. Very nice. We'll be back.
