Reach the Beach

Quick Stats
Distance: 98 miles
Elevation Gain: 3902 feet
Average Moving Speed: 16.04 mph

3000 riders makes for some congestion, but it was worth it. Some very beautiful scenery. And there is just something special about riding from the metro area to a specific objective someplace else. :)

Very well supported - 7 rest stops in all.

Weather was awesome. Beautiful sunny day.

Amy had a flat that we fixed on the last rest stop.

Paul and Kay picked us up in the Jetta and we treated them to lunch at the River House.

All in all, a great ride, and worth doing again.

Lewis County Historical Ride

Quick Stats
Distance: 100 miles
Elevation Gain: 3004 feet
Average Moving Speed: 15.09 mph

Our first century! Scenery was great. Definitely on the TO DO list for next year.

Not very well supported though. Bring at least 2 or 3 power bars next year. They basically ran out of food on the ride. The quality of the scenery made up for it though.

EDIT (one year later): To be fair, we started kind of late and were among the last to finish, so most people probably got plenty of food. The lesson learned here is to start earlier. Riding faster would have helped too, but I was happy to merely finish this ride at the time.
